Top Honors for Gehlen Catholic

The Gehlen Catholic Marching Band’s “Journey” ended with top honors this fall.  The band placed 1^st in Class 1A at Starfest and advanced to finals, where the band placed 9^th overall; 2^nd in Class 1A at Algona Band Day, in the field competition; 1^st in Class 1A at the Dutchmen Field Championships, along with Best Drum Major, Best Color Guard, Best Horn Line, Best Drum Line, and the Pizza Ranch Triple “S” (Sportsmanship) Award, also in Class 1A.  The Marching Band also earned a “I” rating at State. The band performed music from the classic rock group, “Journey.”
