Akron Deaths Investigation

(Le Mars) — The Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the deaths of two people of rural Akron. According to a release by the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Department, at 10:45 Wednesday evening the Communications Center received a 9-1-1 call regarding the welfare of two individuals at a residence in rural Akron.  Deputies arrived and discovered that the two individuals were deceased.  It was also determined that the manner of death was suspicious.  Along with the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, investigators and officers from the Woodbury County Sheriff’s, Division of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Patrol, Plymouth County Medical Examiner’s U-S Marshal’s Service and local police departments are assisting in the investigation.  The Iowa DCI crime lab has been requested and will be arriving Thursday to process the scene of the deaths.  The deceased bodies will be transported to the Iowa Medical Examiner in Ankeny to assist in determining the manner and cause of death.
