(Le Mars) — Prior to the start of the Le Mars City Council meeting on Tuesday, four city officials, and two hospital trustees participated in the swearing of oath for office.  Judge Bob Dull conducted the oath.  Mayor Dick Kirchoff was the first to take the oath of office.  Kirchoff was re-elected to serve another four-year term during the city elections held in November.  Councilman Rex Knapp was able to hold onto his council seat when he was re-elected.  Knapp was challenged by Dan Dembinski.  City council members Clark Goodchild and Ken Nelson were unopposed during the last city election, and they too, took the oath of office.  Floyd Valley Healthcare Trustees Craig Bauerly and Bill Young also raised their right hand to swear they would carry out the duties of a hospital trustee.
