Get Ready For Season’s First Snow Storm

(Le Mars) — Northwest Iowa may experience its first significant snow system this weekend. Meteorologist Jeff Chapman with the National Weather Services of Sioux Falls says we may start to see the first snowflakes later this evening.

The National Weather Services has already issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Saturday evening and continuing through Sunday evening. Chapman says we could see some measurable snowfall.

Chapman explains that it may be late Sunday evening before we can expect to see the back end of the weekend winter snow storm.

Following the weekend snow, Chapman says temperatures on Monday will likely drop to the teens.

Since this is the season’s first snow storm, Chapman reminds motorists to use caution when driving in the snow.

Again, the National Weather Services has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Plymouth County and all of northwest Iowa from Saturday evening through Sunday evening.
