(Le Mars) — Nestled in the southeastern area of Plymouth County at approximately the same distance between Kingsley, Remsen, and Le Mars lies the small community of Union. Anyone traveling on county road C-44 may miss the the small spot on the map. However, for the last 42 years, Bob and Jeanne Bohnenkamp have owned and operated the Union Gas and Oil company. The Bohnenkamps plan to retire at the end of February and have sold the business to Rolling Oil Company of Kingsley. KLEM news sat down with Bob and Jeanne Bohnenkamp to visit about their lives as a rural gas station owner.
