Le Mars Drops Match-Up with 5A Power Sioux City East

Le Mars dropped their second game of the season by a final score of 42-13 to perennial power Sioux City East High.

Despite the final score, the Bulldogs were able to strike very quickly on the Black Raiders. Tyler Iverson found Cal Eckstaine for an 80-yard touchdown pass to give the Bulldogs an early 7-0 lead. Head Coach Ken Vigdal says that gave his team a solid boost of energy to start the game.

From the first score on, Sioux City East would score the next 42 points of the game. Coach Vigdal says that this led to his team making a number of mental mistakes.

The Bulldog offense was able to have success on the stats sheet to the tune of 354 yards of offense. The offensive attack was balanced with 193 yards passing and 161 yards rushing. Coach Vigdal explains what the Bulldogs saw to have that success on offense.

The Bulldogs wrap up non-district play on the road at MOC-Floyd Valley. As the Bulldogs head toward district play in a couple of weeks, Coach Vigdal wants his offensive line play to step up in a big way.

The Bulldogs and Dutchmen kick off at 7:00 PM from Korver Field in Orange City. KLEM 1410 AM and 96.9 FM will broadcast the game live with pregame coverage beginning at 6:15.
