A gas leak in the alley off of 1st Avenue Northwest and Plymouth has closed part of downtown Le Mars.
Le Mars Police Chief Kevin Vande Vegte says a construction crew reportedly struck the gas line around 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Fire crews responded to the scene to deal with the issue and police have blocked off the street.
