RICK FOX MEMORIAL GYM
The Gehlen Catholic Community recently dedicated their auxiliary gymnasium the Rick Fox Memorial Gym. Fox came to Gehlen Catholic in 1978 after graduating college, and spent his entire teaching and coaching career at Gehlen Catholic until his retirement in 2020. He passed away in November, 2022.
The Gehlen Catholic community sought to honor Fox. They went through the Honorary Naming Right process. The nomination was approved by the Gehlen Catholic School Board, and sent as a request to Bishop R. Walker Nickless. Bishop Nickless reviewed the proposal and approved the request.
During the ceremony, Father Bruce Lawler offered prayer and closing blessing. Following the ceremony, there was a ribbon cutting.
