K-P/WC/RV Girls Track and Field Wins Home Panther-Wildcat Relays in Convincing Fashion

The K-P/WC/RV girls track and field team picked up their first meet win of their year at the annual Panther-Wildcat Relays on Monday night in Kingsley.

The Panthers cruised on their way to the meet win with 171 points in the team standings. Hinton was the only team within striking distance of the Panthers with 135 points, and Lawton-Bronson was the only other team within 100 points. K-P/WC/RV head coach Dan Bormann says everyone competed well to give the Panthers the win.

Teams do not win meets without some strong finishes and individual wins. The Panthers had plenty of event wins that helped grow their score. They also had plenty of competitors, some within the same events, that finished in scoring positions. Coach Bormann says those athletes are just as important as the ones who came out on top.

The Panthers were dealt a blow early when their first outdoor meet was canceled due to weather last week. They adjusted their schedule and competed well at Cherokee on Thursday, and Coach Bormann says the girls have made some nice strides already between that meet and this one.

The Panthers are next in action across state lines heading to Homer, Nebraska on Thursday, April 11.
