Hinton Girls Track and Field Send Seniors Off with Home Win in 33rd Annual Blackhawk Invite

The Hinton girls track team got to send their seniors out with a win in their final home track meet on Thursday night. The Blackhawks scored 156 points to win the 33rd annual Hinton Blackhawk Invite.

Head coach Robin Mohr says getting to send the seniors out with a meet win at home is a pretty special thing to do.

Before this senior class came in to the program, The Blackhawks had won just two War Eagle Conference championships. The Blackhawks are now back-to-back defending conference champions, and Coach Mohr says it is because of the senior class’s determination to continue getting better.

The Hinton relay teams proved again why they are some of the best in the area. The 4×800 and the 4×400 relays took home crowns to lead the Blackhawks. Coach Mohr says everyone in all the relay teams have stepped up to compete at a high level.

The Blackhawks had finished in second place in two other meets this year, but it was nice to get over the hump and win a meet for a change. Coach Mohr hopes it shows the girls that they can hang with some top teams as long as they continue to put in the work.

The Blackhawks will return to the track as a team on Tuesday, April 23 at a meet hosted by Lawton-Bronson.
