Gehlen Catholic Girls Golf Picks Up Road Win at Remsen St. Mary’s

The Gehlen Catholic girls golf team improved their dual record to 4-2 with a 214-227 win at Remsen St. Mary’s Tuesday night.

The Jays have been looking forward to competing with the Hawks considering they will see them quite a bit throughout the rest of the schedule. Head coach Jen Kurth says getting to measure up against a familiar foe gives the girls a good picture of where they are at.

The leader in the clubhouse on this particular occasion was Rysaiah Sitzmann with a 51 for Gehlen. That has not always been the case with plenty of other girls having a major contribution on the scoreboard this season. Coach Kurth says she has an enviable position with every girl leading the way at some point this season.

This win started a gauntlet of a schedule for the Jays who continue with the CYO Tournament right away and have two more conference meets on Thursday and Friday this week. Coach Kurth says the girls will be truly tested in these next few days.

The Jays will be in Fort Dodge for the CYO Tournament then back at home against Harris-Lake Park.
