Hinton Girls Golf keeps perfect season in-tact with rainy War Eagle Conference Tournament title

The Hinton girls golf team is on a special run this season, and that continued with a War Eagle Conference tournament title on Tuesday in Le Mars.

The tournament was shortened from 18 holes to nine holes due to the weather. This came after some golfers had already gotten a start on a few holes before having to come back into the clubhouse. Head coach Joel Small was worried about the girls bouncing back from that, but he says they did just fine.

All four scoring golfers for the Blackhawks finished in the top ten being led this time by Addison Kovarna’s 45. Coach Small says having golfers that can shoot low consistently takes the pressure off the whole team.

With an unblemished record and both the conference tournament and regular season titles in tow, the Blackhawks have another goal they would like to attain. That would be getting to the state tournament which they missed out on by just six strokes last season. Coach Small says the girls just need to focus on what they do best, and the rest will take care of itself.

Hinton wraps up the regular season at George-Little Rock on Monday, May 6.
