The University of Southern California men’s basketball program has added director of operations Caleb Cline to its staff, it was announced by head coach Eric Musselman on Thursday, May 16.
Musselman was named USC’s head men’s basketball coach on April 4 and immediately began the process of assembling an elite staff for the basketball program. Musselman and his staff have also worked tirelessly to revamp the USC men’s basketball roster for the 2024-25 season, which will also be announced in the near future.
Cline will serve as USC’s director of basketball operations. He spent the 2023-24 season as the assistant director of basketball operations at Arkansas. He spent the previous two seasons as a graduate assistant with the Arkansas program. Cline played for current USC assistant coach Todd Lee at South Dakota, where he graduated in 2020 with a bachelor’s in Kinesiology and Sports Management with a Coaching minor.
Cline, a 2015 graduate of Le Mars Community High School, started all 27 games for the historic 2015 boy’s basketball team that ended the season as Class 3A state runner-up. It was the first time Le Mars boys basketball had reached the state championship game since the 1946 season. Cline was a two-time All-Lakes Conference selection in his time in a Bulldog basketball uniform. He also played baseball and golf for the Bulldogs.
