The Hinton girls track and field team brought home a third-place finish in their first outdoor meet of the year in Sergeant Bluff on Tuesday night.
It was another cold night to open the outdoor track season meaning times and distances would be impacted. Hinton head coach Robin Mohr says he was overall very pleased with the body of work put forth by his team.
Only one relay event finished outside the top three meaning the Blackhawks have some depth at many running distances. Coach Mohr says that will allow his team to be flexible as the season goes along.
Individually, Addy Pigott fought through a stomach bug and still was able to be part of two winning events. A freshman in Addie Dunkel scored wins in two events as well including a strong showing for the win in the 100m dash. Coach Mohr says those two were just the tip of the iceberg to the strong individual performances in Sergeant Bluff.
The Blackhawks will next be in action on Thursday in Vermillion, South Dakota at a meet hosted by Vermillion High School.
