The Le Mars Community girls basketball team opened the second half of the MRAC schedule with a loss at home to Sergeant Bluff-Luton by the score of 53-41.
For the most part, Le Mars stayed in stride with the Warriors throughout the night, but the Warriors beat the Bulldogs in the little things. Head coach Sidney Ruden says one of those little things came in the loose basketballs that her team did not win.
The Bulldogs were rejuvenated in the rotation by Shea Susemihl who returned to the starting lineup for the first time in a couple of weeks. She went on to lead the team in scoring with 12 points in the win. Coach Ruden says she provides a spark to all the others on the floor.
As the MRAC schedule continues to wind down, the action keeps heating up. The Bulldogs have three games on the road against the top three teams in the MRAC over the next two weeks. Coach Ruden says this will be a good tune-up to postseason play.
Le Mars faces off with No. 11 Sioux City East on Friday in Sioux City. Tip-off is scheduled for 5:30 PM.
