Hinton football rebounds with dominant win at MMCRU

The Hinton football team picked up their first win of the season bouncing back with a 32-7 win at MMCRU on Friday night in Marcus.

The Blackhawks were regrouping after a season-opening loss to Gehlen in week one that saw the guys make many uncharacteristic mistakes throughout the night. Hinton head coach Kadrian Hardersen says he was happy with how the guys cleaned that up ahead of this matchup with MMCRU.

The biggest jump offensively came in the passing attack where Hinton went from completing 59% of their passes against Gehlen to completing 73% against MMCRU. Coach Hardersen says he was pleased with the execution from the passing attack.

Coach Hardersen says having one game under his belt prepared Duncan Mathiason better for his week two performance.

After getting down 7-6, the Blackhawks did not allow another score the rest of the night. Coach Hardersen says his guys made things challenging for MMCRU quarterback Eli Harpenau.

Hinton will wrap up non-district play with a matchup at home against Tri-Center. The Blackhawks are 1-1 and will look to take some important momentum into their district schedule. Coach Hardersen says this will be a great test for his team.

Hinton and Tri-Center face off in Hinton on Friday night with kickoff set for 7:00 PM.
