Remsen Oktoberfest to take place on October 31st

Remsen Oktoberfest will take place on Saturday, October 31st. Since 1973, Remsen has celebrated Oktoberfest annually on the last Saturday in October, which aims to carry on the community tradition of the Luxembourg and German heritage while celebrating the end of harvest season.

Michael Matgen, the Co-Chair of the festivities, says there will be some changes this year due to the construction at Remsen St. Mary’s High School.

“Food boats” will be available in different sizes, which will allow for on-the-go eating while enjoying the festivities.

With Oktoberfest falling on Halloween this year, the musical acts will also look different, as DJ Braz and the Mark Vyhlidal Band are set to perform.
