Le Mars Boys Tennis Toughs Out Win Over Sioux City West

The Le Mars Community boys tennis team picked up their first MRAC win of the season defeating Sioux City West on Tuesday night by a score of 9-0.

The win also snapped a quick two-match losing skid seeing the Bulldogs drop contests with Sergeant Bluff-Luton and Sioux City North. Head coach Michael Bahr says two aspects were the difference in the match. One being their preparation for the match and the second being their ability to work through and win close games.

A bright spot this week has come further down the line in the order of courts. Joe Rasmussen has been on the sixth singles court and second doubles court and has not lost a match this week. Ryder Mullaly, his partner in doubles, came back from down 3-0 in singles to win his match 8-5. Coach Bahr says those matches hold extra importance this year for his team.

The Bulldogs are in the midst of a really packed week with two matches in two days to start and end the week. Coach Bahr was pleased with the step the guys made heading into their win over West and needs it to continue against some tough Lakes Conference opponents.

The Bulldogs host Estherville-Lincoln Central on Thursday and are on the road to Storm Lake on Friday. Le Mars now sits 2-2 overall and 1-2 in the MRAC.
