Bulldog boys basketball shows improvement in road loss to Lewis Central

The Le Mars Community boys basketball team lost a tight 67-63 game with Class 4A Lewis Central on the road on Monday night in non-conference action.

A rough start saw the Bulldogs get down nine points late in the first quarter and have to dig out of that hole for most of the game. Le Mars head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says his guys responded from that slow start and got better as the game went on.

One guy who really got better later on was Cole Brownmiller. He was Le Mars’ top scorer with 23 points including 11 in the third quarter alone. Coach Dyhrkopp says the guys always know who has the hot hand, and Cole’s hot hand was a confident one.

Two more games remain in the regular season for the Bulldogs with one in the MRAC and one non-conference game left. Coach Dyhrkopp says the guys are trying to string as much momentum together as the postseason comes along.

The Bulldogs host Council Bluffs TJ tonight and Spencer on Friday. Both games you can listen to on KLEM.
