Hinton football opened district play on Friday night with a disappointing 23-14 loss at the hands of Ridge View.
The Blackhawks have been on a rollercoaster ride this season with big win followed by big loss in alternating fashion in the first four weeks. Hinton head coach Kadrian Hardersen says it feels like his team makes some progress and has another thing that needs fixing right away.
Hinton’s two touchdowns came on passing plays to Logan Kempema who has now caught five touchdowns in his 10 total catches this season. Coach Hardersen says he is a great weapon to have even when he does not get the ball all the time.
When it came down to it, Hinton let too many plays go on too long that set up Ridge View scoring opportunities. Coach Hardersen says the guys need to finish tackles so that the big plays do not occur.
If you thought the schedule would get easier for Hinton, think again. The Blackhawks travel to take on the defending Class 2A champions this week when they take on West Lyon. Coach Hardersen says that program is what everyone dreams to be, and it will be a great test for his team.
Kickoff is set for 7:00 PM on Friday night in Inwood.
