Le Mars boys basketball grinds out tight win over Lewis Central

The Le Mars boys basketball team picked up a tough non-conference win on Monday night defeating Lewis Central 52-50.

The Bulldogs sealed the game in the fourth quarter with their defensive intensity allowing just eight points in the final quarter. Head coach Cody Dyhrkopp says the work the guys have put in on defense is something they take pride in.

Le Mars had three players score in double figures that contributed at big times all throughout the night. They were led by Andrew Grant and Jack Wells who each scored 14 points. Coach Dyhrkopp says they were taking the game as it came to them and taking advantage of it.

The Bulldogs have two more games left to go with the next one being a conference matchup against Council Bluffs TJ. Even though the Yellow Jackets are winless, Coach Dyhrkopp says TJ has his guys’ attention.

Le Mars will take on Council Bluffs TJ in a back-to-back night before facing off with Spencer in Spencer on Friday. KLEM Radio will have live coverage of the matchup with Spencer on Friday night.
