Heitritter and MacGregor Qualify as Le Mars’ Individual State Tournament Participants

On top of qualifying for state as a team, the Le Mars Community boys bowling team is sending two individuals to the state meet in Waterloo. Caiden Heitritter took third, and Sebastian MacGregor placed fourth to get the Bulldogs a pair of individuals to next week’s state meet.

Both guys had a series of very consistent games to get them to the state meet. For Sebastian MacGregor his consistency gets him to state for the first time in his career. Head coach Travis Jones says it is rewarding to see him reach that goal after being close in years past.

Meanwhile, Heitritter has been there done that and proved it getting his individual series started with a 233 that had him in the top eight right away. Coach Jones says Heitritter’s energy sparks the rest of the team to do well.

The Bulldogs would have loved to have had more qualify, and they almost did. Tyson Alcorn finished five pins off a spot at state, Trevor Fisher was six pins off, and Tyler Schuur was just 20 pins off a state berth. Coach Jones says all three guys bowled well and should feel good about their accomplishments.

Heitritter and MacGregor will bowl at the state meet on Monday, February 19 in Waterloo.
